Repatriation of stranded fishers has been a worldwide issue since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.
ETF, Europeche and Cogeca, the European social partners in fisheries, addressed a letter to the relevant authorities of Senegal and Ivory Coast today, asking for their cooperation and support in facilitating the repatriation of fishers stranded in West Africa due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Fishers are essential workers as they contribute to the food supply around the globe. Their circulation, health and safety should be guaranteed by all countries.
