In response to the expected announcement of the European Commission’s so-called “Better Regulation” reforms, more than 50 civil society organisations have launched today the “Better Regulation Watchdog”. This network, comprising a wide range of public interest groups including the ETF, aims to protect citizens’, workers’ and consumers’ rights.

The participating organisations are in particular concerned that the “Better Regulation” agenda will weaken essential regulations and subordinate the public good to corporate interests. The network will monitor any action taken under the Better Regulation initiative and inform involved stakeholders of possible risks for existing and future social, labour, environmental, consumer, financial regulation and public health standards.
