EASA Capacity Building project – final conference

7 Jan 2020

On 19 and 20 November 2019, an ETF civil aviation conference brought more than 100 participants from all over Europe to Dublin. Among them were numerous workers’ representatives, as well as representatives of the European Commission and EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

The agenda of the final conference of the EASA Capacity Building project included:

  • presentation of the training package produced during the EASA Capacity Building project – designed to help trade unions play a larger role in the aviation safety regulation-making process;
  • discussions with the representatives of the European Commission and EASA, clarifying the processes and potential points of influence;
  • reports about the current situation of key security topics for ATM staff, ground handling staff, and aircrew;
  • reflection on the work done so far and preparation of future plans.
