Joint ETUC-ETUFs statement on Proposed Enforcement Directive

27 Mar 2013

This Directive is a European legislative proposal that intends to resolve various well-known legal, administrative and practical forms of abuse, circumvention of regulations and fraudulent practices when workers are temporarily posted in another country. In the letter, the signatories denounce the observed practices of several politicians to use the political debate on posting to pursue their mission to dismantle workers’ rights by imposing a race-to-the-bottom in terms of social rights and wages.

The ETUC and ETUFs urge the European legislators to use the opportunity of the Enforcement Directive to resolve the problem of abuse and exploitation of more than one million posted workers annually.
