Statement October 29, 2025 ETF urges EU and EASA to act over unlawful dismissals of Serbian air traffic controllers and launches petition “Serbia’s path to the EU must be built on respect for democracy and workers’ rights. These unlawful dismissals occurred just days before the President of the Commission said in Belgrade that Serbia must do more to demonstrate its adherence to EU fundamental values. This was not the first attack on trade union rights in Serbia. We call on the European Commission to demand the effective upholding of workers’ fundamental rights.” said Livia Spera, General Secretary of ETF.
News October 17, 2025 Union leaders unlawfully dismissed in Serbia – European federations call on authorities to take immediate action Yesterday, the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) sent a joint letter to Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Đuro Macut, urging them to urgently intervene in the recent dismissal of two leaders of the Sindikat kontrole letenja (SKL) – the trade union representing air traffic controllers in Serbia.
