In the framework of the Syndex/ETF project EWCs in transport: More and better participation now! trade unions from the ETF Dockers Section met in Bremen to strengthen their cooperation. The participants from Cyprus, Germany and Italy stressed the worsening of industrial relations and the lack of proper dialogue and investments in certain locations.
The unions renewed their commitment to mutually support each other and discussed the possibility to have an European Works Council for Eurokai, the pan-European port and shipping conglomerate. Further exchanges will be needed to evaluate this opportunity.
