ETF calls on governments and competent authorities managing public transport services, railway companies and infrastructure managers as well as all sub-contractors delivering services to the railways to recognize the importance of railway workers and to respect their health and safety, employment, financial stability and collective rights. Our statement lays out what should be done to protect railway workers, and looks towards the future of railways after COVID-19.

COVID-19: Passenger charter is “key element in guaranteeing a safe way to work” in public transport (vida, younion joint action)

ETF affiliates vida and younion; the Austrian Chamber of Economics representing the employers, and the Ministry for Climate, Environment, Mobility and Energy have adopted a “Passenger Charter” that aims to create a safe atmosphere and rebuild the trust of passengers and workers after weeks of being warned not to use public transport.
