It is utterly unacceptable for Brussels Airlines to use such a dirty attack against its own workers. There seems to be no limit in the company’s threats to put the cost of a strike they are legally entitled to organise on the worker’s shoulders

The real causes of port congestion should be sought in the unreliability of the shipping companies and the lack of proper planning to face this exceptional period, instead of putting the burden on port workers who never stepped back during this crisis.

ETF & Vera Tax call on European Commission to mainstream a gender-responsive approach into EU transport policies

On the heels of yesterday’s report on How to Make Transport Fit for Women to Work in which revealed an alarming gender divide in the transport industry, comes a joint call by ETF and MEP Vera Tax call on Commissioner Vălean and Commissioner Dalli to mainstream a gender-responsive approach into EU transport policies. A debate on Women in Transport in the framework of the first European Gender Equality Week at the European Parliament, will take place today and tackle the underlying issues that lead to an underrepresentation of women in the transport sector.

Yes! More women in transport – Make Transport Fit for Women to Work in!

ETF’s survey of around 3,000 women transport workers has revealed an urgent need for substantial changes to make the transport sector genuinely fit for women to work in. Against this background, the ETF is launching its campaign ‘Make Transport Fit for Women to Work in’, targeting policymakers and social partners at both national and European level.
