ETF expresses its deepest sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the tragic attack that occurred during the ver.di (Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft) trade union strike rally on Thursday morning, when a car drove into the rally, causing multiple injuries, including several very serious cases.
We are deeply shocked and saddened that such an event could take place during a peaceful rally—a moment meant to celebrate solidarity. Such gatherings are at the heart of our struggle as a grassroots movement. The strength of the workers movement, our movement, lies in solidarity, collective action, and democracy. It is heartbreaking that a day dedicated to these values has been overshadowed by tragedy.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all our ver.di colleagues during this difficult time. We wish all those injured a full and speedy recovery.
