Belgium’s rail workers are on strike this October 5 to call on the government to invest in rail.

Ryanair’s decision to let go of 100 workers from its base in Brussels Zaventem will change the lives of these workers forever. They will now be forced to move entire families away from Brussels or leave the industry without any say. It is unacceptable.

The Belgian cabin crew working for the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair are on strike from today until the 24th of April, after the negotiations with Ryanair management on a new collective agreement on wages have miserably failed.

Following a vicious attack on a Belgian train conductor, ETF Railway Section calls on the Belgian government and national railway company, SNCB, to step up investments to solve issues of understaffing and insecurity.

ETF Management Committee renewed the solidarity to the Belgian affiliates BTB-ABVV, ACV TRANSCOM and ACVLB and to the Belgian dock workers in their struggle for Belgian “Wet Major."

For the past few months, Aviapartner has been ignoring calls by EWC representatives and trade unions in different countries to engage in dialogue. The ETF urges Aviapartner to stop with this harmful behaviour immediately.
