As Delivery Hero heads into its 18 June AGM today, investors face a pressing question: is the company’s business model sustainable, or is it a ticking ESG time bomb? With only 300,000 truck parking spaces currently available in the EU, there is a significant shortfall of 100,000 spaces to meet total demand. Only 7,000, or less than 3%, of existing parking places in the EU are in certified safe and secure areas.

The ETF has addressed an open letter to EU member states on behalf of trade union member organisations representing professional drivers; calling on on national authorities across Europe to keep restaurants, cafes and sanitary facilities open in parking areas.
