Resolution of the ETF Executive Committee on Ukraine

At our Executive Committee (EC) meeting in Prague on 29-31 March 2022, we have adopted a resolution reiterating our strong call for peace in Ukraine.

We stand firmly against war in Ukraine and all conflict. Asking for peace is also our way to publicly reiterate we stand by the values we claim to defend: freedom, equality, solidarity and democracy.

This Committee has also established a dedicated ETF Ukraine Solidarity Fund that will finance all ETF assistance to our Ukrainian members, transport workers and their families.

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) express their profound shock at today’s serious rail accident in Toledo, Spain, and extend their deepest condolences and solidarity to everyone affected by this tragic event. Reports state that at least 64 people are believed to have died, with dozens injured – numbers that may rise.
