A debate on Women in Transport in the framework of the first European Gender Equality Week at the European Parliament, will take place today and tackle the underlying issues that lead to an underrepresentation of women in the transport sector.

In its Policy on Climate-Neutral Transport, the ETF lays out six key principles for a socially sustainable climate policy.

The European Commission published a New Pact on Migration and Asylum. Initial analysis of the text revealed that the document still lacks solidarity, as well as legal clarity and coordinated solutions for cases where commercial vessels and their crew are involved in rescuing migrants and refugees.

The ETF has addressed a letter to the EU-UK Brexit Negotiation Taskforce to express concerns that Brexit will come with chaos and confusion on the UK border, and with delays at ports due to incomplete IT systems.

As part of the European Digital Strategy, the European Commission is currently working on the new Digital Services Act. The ETF replied to the consultation, but firmly states that the issue of platform work requires more attention and a specific focus rather than being added to a consultation on another topic.

ETF responds to the new SES proposal. Initial analysis shows that the proposal ignores countless issues that air traffic management has been facing, and instead focuses on reducing costs of ATM services and aims to bring more competition into the sector.
